Garin

Garin was a Human male Rebel Alliance spy stationed on the planet Bothawui during the Galactic Civil War.

Like many spies and undercover agents on Bothawui, he used to socialize with other spies of rival factions; framed within a social and "friendly" relationship with them, he regularly met with criminal syndicate informant Drixar, and Imperial Intelligence operative Sharalon at the Cedrian Terrace. During their feigned and superficial chatter, each one tried to pull out some slipped piece of information. Garin was aware of her past, and had lost friends and colleagues thanks to her operations.

At some point, Sharalon and Garin had an impromptu meeting after a Bothan Trade Mission reception, and they admitted neither knew for whom Drixar was working for, although he was sure he was operating under Hutt kajidic interests. Around that time, his subordinates informed him that Imperial operatives arrived at spaceport, and joined the staff of the Regal Bothan Hotel, where Sharalon had a cover job as desk manager.

A week later, the trio met again at the next of their usual meetings. Sharalon offered an alluring smile to Garin, who kissed her on the cheek, and he slapped Drixar on the back. After they ordered drinks from BV-1210, they started their small talk, during which Garin expressed his interest in meeting the new hotel staffers; he could perceive a small expression of disgust from Sharalon, even though she tried to cover with an awkward smile. Drixar mentioned sensor and advanced computer equipment heading for Kothlis, about which Sharalon and Garin knew nothing; Sharalon's silent raising of the eyebrow betrayed to Garin that the Empire didn't know anything about it. Then she redirected the conversation to the recent computer upgrade in Garin's "office", which Garin connected to their "new accounts in the Corporate Sector".

While their lunch was served, he took a look outside; he easily spotted two Imperial agents that were covering Sharalon, pretending to watch a public display of the local NewsNets. He also noticed a suspicious-looking Rodian at the juice counter, possibly Drixar's shadow.

They concluded their lunch with the usual jokes, and Sharalon picked up the tab from Beevee; she winked at Garin while Drixar was not looking.

Sharalon was unaware that in the meantime Garin's slicers were uploading her personal datafiles, which Garin scanned that night, learning about a scheduled incognito arrival of a Grand Moff the following week, as well as an embarassing detail about her personal life.
