Heat trips were a specialized form of sensor trip that used an automated heat sensor. They detected passing heat sources and could be programmed to ignore specific heat patterns. Stormtrooper units patrolling near Imperial bases employing heat trips often used heat-producing elements in their armor to pass by the trips without triggering them. SoroSuub Corporation manufactured the Heat Sensor Trip during the Galactic Civil War.
