Ice storms were frequent and fast-moving storms that swept across the planet Hoth. They were among the greatest dangers on the ice world, with the intense storms known for their speed and erratic movement across the frozen planet. After escaping from the Wampa cave, Commander Luke Skywalker was caught in an ice storm raging across the Lanteel Glacier. Skywalker encountered the spirit of his mentor, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi during the storm, who instructed him to travel to the Dagobah system. Skywalker was discovered and rescued by Captain Han Solo shortly after.
