Imperial penal colony

During the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire maintained penal colonies on diferent planets to keep prisoners in. An Imperial penal colony was generally considered worse than a prison and was usually reserved to Class One infraction offenders.

One such colony was present on Garen IV, where pilot Stevan Makintay was incarcerated in the facility around 2 BBY for a year before being freed.
