Insecticulture was a Kubaz term used to describe the scientific process of genetic engineering as applied to that cornerstone of the Kubindi diet, insects—increasing their stamina and size, and thus supply.

A science developed at the end of the Hive Wars—which conflict was the result of dire food shortages on the planet Kubindi—the cultural remnants of insecticulture were found on other planets within the galaxy, such as Tatooine. There, Gardulla the Hutt employed a Kubindi gourmet chef who fed chemicals to exotic insects and injected them with growth hormones to cause them to unnaturally mutate and increase in size, with the aim of improving taste.
