Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

The key-code replicator input/output jack was a type of I/O jack used by electronic lock breakers. When plugged directly into a door lock, the jack spiked a large polynomial computation into the device that kept the main security programming occupied while a secondary slicing program flashed through random code combinations sequences in order to find the correct authorization code andopen the mechanism. The polynomial computation essentially kept the lock's security computer occupied and convinced it there was no attempts at subverting it. The jack could even be targeted at locks that were secured by an individual's genetic code. In this instance, the slicing program randomly cycled through gene-sequence codes until the correct one was discovered.
