A laser cutter, also known as a cutting laser, was a type of laser used for cutting. A cutting laser was contained within the finger of the right arm of the IG-88 line of assassin droids created by Holowan Laboratories.
R2-series astromech droids were advertised as having laser cutters as standard equipment at no extra cost. Inferno firefighting robos were equipped with laser cutters to cut through doors and flaming wreckage. GRZ-6B wrecker droids had a laser cutter built into its right palm.
