Light absorbing cell

Legends

Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

Light absorbing cells were invented and used by the Kerestian people in their darksticks.

They were applied as an integrated webbing along a darksticks surface, and upon activation the cells would bend light by using an electromagnetic field, creating a "darkness field" in the darkstick's vicinity. Kerestian's wore infrared and ultraviolet scanners into battle as a result, taking advantage of their opponents blindness to savage effect.
