Lightning Runners

The Lightning Runners was a group of daredevil pilots who, in the early days after a refugee transport from the Mandalorian Wars crashed on the planet Makeb, banded together and built specialized fliers to try and navigate Makeb's skies, braving the dangerous atmosphere and the massive electromagnetic interference in its upper levels. Though many were killed, the data gathered by their efforts helped their fellow colonists determine patterns in the interference, allowing later generations to exploit the patterns and safely transport passengers and cargo in small shuttles through the atmosphere.
