Maintenance droid

Maintenance droids, also known as repair droids, mechanic droids, engineer droids, and utility robots, were droids designed to perform repair and general maintenance tasks. Models of repair droids included the WED Treadwell repair droid, the MSE-6 series repair droid, the DUM-series pit droid, the Otoga-222 maintenance droid, the K1-RF workbench droid, and the PIP droid.

AL-42 was one such droid model that had multiple limbs and operated a repulsortrain operated by the Pyke Syndicate on Tatooine. Several of AL-42's model were on Plazir-15 in the droid cantina.

R2-D2 was one of the astromech droids aboard a Naboo royal starship, was rewarded for emergency maintenance on the ship's deflector shields, and was the only repair droid to survive the task.

Maintenance droids of the Jedi Temple raked patterns into the gravel floors of the Room of a Thousand Fountains nightly to replace the ones obliterated by daily foot traffic.
