The MedNet was a public forum accessible by doctors and physicians during the reign of the Galactic Empire. Kornell Divini accessed it to inquire about midi-chlorians from a cell biologist, a forbidden subject which was banned by the Emperor himself. The action tripped a warning flag which alerted Imperial overseers to notify Darth Vader.
