A monograph was a type of book containing detailed information on a specific subject. Monographs could be made with flimsiplast, or preserved in digital formats and stored in memory banks, allowing them to be accessed, reviewed, or recorded by droids.
In 8 ABY, C-3PO had a copy of the Par Ontham's Guide to Etiquette within his memory banks but had never recorded an original one.
