Nanny droid

A nanny droid, child care droid, or minder droid was a droid specifically built and programmed for the care of children. Many nanny droids were covered with synthflesh, which mimicked the mother's scent and warmth. Also standard in nanny droid design was an internal reservoir that could hold milk. Child care droids were one of the four primary classifications of Class three droids.

The earliest attempts at creating nanny droids were failures, with customers complaining about a lack of warmth from the units. However, they appreciated the droid's ability to keep order and a tight schedule.

Some nanny droids, such as Nanna, were equipped with weaponry to defend their charges if the need should arise.
