Outer Expansion Zone

The Outer Expansion Zone was a region of space which existed several centuries before the Clone Wars. The Expansionist Oligarchy, a corporate conglomerate, gained the rights to develop worlds in the Outer Expansion Zone. Upon securing their rights, the Oligarchy engaged in cruel labor practices akin to slavery, exploited the worlds' natural resources, and suppressed labor uprisings. As a result, the Galactic Republic shut down the Oligarchy, but the events within the Expansion Zone inspired the establishment of the Corporate Sector two centuries later.
