Physician's code

The physician's code was a doctrine around which the core programming of the 2-1B surgical droid was built. The code prevented the droid from refusing to render medical aid to any being in need, unless specifically ordered otherwise by an appropriately authorized operator. The code also prevented the droid from deliberately inflicting harm to an organic being, including a prohibition on entering into combat.
