Plank gas was an extremely corrosive chemical which ate away at exposed skin, causing painful injuries. The chemical could also destroy non-organic material, such as space suits, electronic components, droids, and defensive structures. Due to its corrosive nature, breath masks were useless against plank gas. The Imperial Military loaded speciality grenades with plank gas for use with the CSPL-12 projectile launcher.
