Quill

Quills were sharp spines that could be produced by various species, including the humanoid Spiners and the octopus-like twenchok. Spiners could produce them rapidly, and suitably trained members of the species could fling them at opponents several times per day. Twenchok could similarly fire their quills as a defense mechanism, discharging them singly or in volleys.

Vagh Rodiek, warbeasts bioengineered by the Yuuzhan Vong from Rodians, replaced the head spines characteristic of Rodians with quills.
