Right of Last Appeal

Canon Linked from 10 articles

The Right of Last Appeal was mandated by the Pirate's Code and stipulated that a defendant was to be allotted a specific amount of time to speak before a verdict was proclaimed. Around 9 ABY, the pirate Chaelt pointed out to her fellow crew that Captain Brutus's verdict concerning former Captain Silvo had been passed without respecting Silvo's Right of Last Appeal, and the pirate Snobbius Snee—who oversaw the trial—concurred with her remark. In light of Chaelt's observation, Brutus allowed Silvo to speak, closely monitoring his allotted time using an hourglass.
