A satellite receiver was a type of technological device in use by the galaxy. It was occasionally banned from civilian interstellar travel such as by the Star Tours travel agency, at least among checked baggage.
During the early stages of the Galactic Civil War, the security droid in charge of checking baggage, G2-9T, discovered a satellite receiver inside a passenger's checked baggage. Despite it being prohibited, he decided to let it slide as he found it to be "cute," also suggesting that the passenger keep it a secret from his supervisor.
