Security kit

A security kit or security bypass kit was a collection of tools and electronic components designed specifically for bypassing electronic and mechanical locks. Sensor devices were often included as part of the kit to aid in their use. These items were highly restricted on most worlds and possession was only permitted by those with proper permits, like members of law enforcement or professional security experts.

Deluxe security kit models contained a dedicated comlink to monitor frequencies typically used by silent alarms to warn the user of detection. Security kits could weight between 1 and 1.2 kilograms depending on the design. The kits usually retailed for five hundred credits for a standard kit, and up to one thousands credits for a deluxe kit.
