Sensor blind

A sensor blind was a type of sensor countermeasure. Unlike a sensor jammer which sought to conceal the target of a scan, the sensor blind worked to disguise it instead. Where a sensor jammer outputted energy to overpower enemy sensors, the sensor blind analyzed the enemy sensor then transmitted additional energy waves. The intent was to disguise the energy output as natural phenomena to confuse the enemy sensors. In built up areas such as a city or urban area, the sensor blind was especially effective as it had a number of common energy signatures to be used as the basis of a disguise. IntelStar Company manufactured the Tranquility System I sensor blind during the Galactic Civil War.
