Skyfaring

Skyfaring was a Gatalentan calisthenics exercise. Participants used scarves to climb wooden scaffolding and suspend themselves in midair. Traditionally, Gatalentans started learning skyfaring as very young children. Skyfaring acted as a meditative and spiritual process for the Gatalentans, with advanced practitioners of skyfaring able to meditate in place, "unmoored to the ground," and so enhance their spiritual well-being and that of those around them.

Amilyn Holdo, when she was a member of the Apprentice Legislature, taught Alderaanian princess Leia Organa skyfaring in a purpose-built skyfaring room within the Gatalentan senatorial complex on Coruscant.
