Somnia was a treatment technique used by Force-sensitive Chiss navigators when they experienced sensory overload, called overload spells. The mental regimen of somnia, along with sensory deprivation lowered the metabolism to stop the physical symptoms while the sensory deprivation worked on the mental recovery.
