The First To Swim

The First To Swim was the title given to the leader of the School, the loose government that oversaw Iskalonian society. For many years, the School had not required a formal leader, but established the role by the time of the Galactic Civil War to align with the truism "someone must ever be the first to swim." The First To Swim would lead the Iskalonians, and the others would follow. The Inleshat Primor served as The First To Swim during their negotiations with the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and the Iskalonians followed him because he refused to take his people against their own inclinations. Primor served as The First To Swim until his death, being succeeded by his own son, Mone.
