The Scanner

The Scanner was a game piece used in the Canto Pass game that resembled a scanner. As a threat piece, it was not worth any points, but it prevented the player from picking up their next piece, no matter the type. By 3 ABY, one such piece had been stored in a container in Imperial Outpost 74 in the North Jundland Wastes region of the Outer Rim desert planet Tatooine.

In 3 ABY, a thief named Kay Vess found the container and stole the Scanner piece.
