The Shimmersilk was a restaurant in the POTU district of Coruscant. Considered rather undesirable, the Shimmersilk was cramped and affected by vibrations from a nearby mag-lev train line. The restaurant's air quality was poor and it was cheaply-furnished.

In 52 BBY, a young Senator Palpatine was lured to the Shimmersilk under the guise of a meeting with a lobbyist from Silvestri Trace Power, in fact part of an elaborate kidnapping attempt arranged by Senator Pax Teem as retribution against Hego Damask.
