A treddroid was a type of droid used in mining and related practices. One was present on Bal'demnic in 67 BBY, where it supervised a mining probe (an Em-2 unit), and was used by Darth Tenebrous and his apprentice, Plagueis, to assist in investigating a cortosis seam.
