A dealer sold the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure an Ayalayli thornwood-framed gong and swore that the piece had been used in the Parliament of Moralan, the government of the Moralan species, which the Hutts had driven to extinction. The gong became one of Jabba's favorite conversation pieces, and he used it to signal the beginning of the Boonta Eve Classic podracing event on the planet Tatooine in 32 BBY.
