Waypoint Station Cresh was a Republic Military outpost on the planet Taris during the Cold War, when the Taris Resettlement Initiative was underway. A squad of Republic troopers including Geozel, Gilroh, and Ferdoin were tasked with escorting a supply convoy from Waypoint Station Cresh to Waypoint Station Morne, but the convoy broke down and the soldiers decided to desert, prompting Morne's quartermaster Kahrin Wek to send forces to investigate.
