Base D8-Red was an Imperial Ubiqtorate base on a stable planetoid in the Ringali Shell of the galaxy. In existence by the year 0 ABY, D8-Red was the staging area for Imperial undercover and covert operations in the Core Worlds, as well as the main launching point for operations in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. Housing thousands of Imperial Intelligence agents, the base also had on hand hundreds of SpecNav Force troopers, an elite force in the Imperial Navy. Additionally, D8-Red had a team of scientists and engineers who worked on creating new weaponry that could be used for covert operations.
