A refinery was built by the Galactic Republic on the planet Quesh to mine the valuable chemical venenit queshaaga during the Cold War between the Republic and the Sith Empire. However, contaminants polluted the refining process, causing the processed chemical—more commonly known as Quesh venom—to eat through the refinery's vats and the floor of the building. The refinery was heavily damaged by the incident, leading the Republic to build a new refinery by the year 3642 BBY.
