The Galactic Empire established a small outpost on the planet Dantooine sometime after the Battle of Yavin, during the Galactic Civil War. The outpost consisted of a small watchtower built between small hills in a remote location of Dantooine. Imperial troopers patrolled the area. In 1 ABY, Colonel Veers stayed at this outpost for a short time during the Project Dead Eye incident.
