The Knurled Highlands was a region of Iope, a moon of the planet Rinn, that featured a high density of berry shrubs. By the time of the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and reconstituted Sith Empire, the shrubs' existence was the only remaining indicator that the Highlands had at one point supported settlements.
Around 3637 BBY, an individual affiliated with one of the two warring sides sent a companion of theirs to investigate the possibility of other evidence pointing to settlement in the Knurled Highlands.
