Makeb Drilling Platforms were the mining platforms used by the Hutt Cartel in the Cartel mining mesa on the planet Makeb. The platforms used mining lasers to drill into the planet's core for isotope-5. During the conflict, Sith Empire forces attacked the platforms and commandeered them in order to halt the planet's impending destruction.
