Republic shipyards
Canon Linked from 5 articles
The Republic shipyards were shipyards operated by the Galactic Republic on the Core Worlds planet Hosnian Prime during the High Republic Era. By 232 BBY, the Longbeam cruiser Aurora IX, a state-of-the-art vessel and brand-new design, had been built at the shipyards for use within the Republic Defense Coalition. That year, while serving aboard the Aurora IX in the Outer Rim's Hetzal system, Republic Defense Coalition Captain Finial Bright mentally noted the cruiser's construction at the Republic shipyards. In 34 ABY, Hosnian Prime was destroyed by the First Order's Starkiller Base superweapon.
