The Rethin Sea was the name of the liquid rethin (also known as "rethen") metal core of the gas giant Bespin. During the Trioculus affair, the Empire constructed a factory barge above the sea to harvest metals and tibanna and produce material. A by-product of the factory was braze (a contraction of "brown haze"), which heavily polluted Bespin's atmosphere.
