Shaft 12 was a mining shaft on the Eastern Ice Shelf of Ilum, established by the miners of the Minos-Mestra Corporation around 3631 BBY. After the miners accidentally desecrated the burial cite of Xivhkalrainik's father, his son, Sith Lord Xalek began attacking their mining camps, slaughtering everyone and leaving no survivors. Shaft 12 was one of his targets, where everyone present there at the time of the attack perished.
