Tagata was a farming village on the planet Felucia, which was the site of an engagement between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.
As Separatist forces completed their invasion of the planet, clone troopers defended the village while evacuating the villagers and a cache of valuable medicinal plants onto Republic transports.
Nearby the village was a swamp, a dead sarlacc whose pit had filled with water, and a network of caves.
