Unidentified Balmorran island chain

An isolated chain of islands existed on the planet Balmorra that was home to two unique species—the wingmaw and its primary predator, the Balmorran maweater. Around 4250 BBY, explorers unknowingly brought both creatures to the Balmorran mainland, which gave rise to large populations of both predator and prey on the mainland until the Great Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. During the war, Imperial bombardment wiped out the maweater population on both the mainland and the islands.
