Western Provinces

The Western Provinces were a region of the Mid Rim planet Naboo. During the Republic Era, the girl Rabene Tonsort hailed from the Western Provinces and spoke in the distinctive accent of those who lived there. However, upon leaving the region to attend school elsewhere, Tonsort adopted a different accent to mask where she originated from. In 32 BBY, Tonsort adopted the name Rabé to serve as one of Queen Padmé Amidala's Naboo Royal Handmaidens. Not long afterward, the queen reflected that Rabé was having difficulty perfecting the new accent developed for handmaidens to seamlessly trade places with Amidala due to her past in the Western Provinces.
