Denab was a planet in the Sluis sector of the Outer Rim. During the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire, the planet was the site of a malfunctioning device built by the Rakata species that began generating new species of plants and animals.
Prior to the Battle of Yavin, it was the site where Rebel Alliance starfighters led by Commander Grisserno defeated the Imperial Fourth Attack Squadron, composed of Victory-class Star Destroyers, at the Battle of Denab.
