Ganthel was a celestial body located in the Ganthel system of the Core Worlds' Bormea sector. Grandon Holleck, a veteran of the Clone Wars and the Galactic Empire's governor of the Bormea sector planet Chandrila, hailed from Ganthel. After Galactic Emperor Palpatine forced Holleck's retirement, a news report issued by Coruscant Daily Newsfeed on the date 36:8:4 claimed that Holleck had cited in a resignation letter to Palpatine his desire to relocate from Chandrila to Ganthel as one of the reasons for his retirement.
