Harloen was a planet located in the Harloen system of the Outer Rim Territories' Belsmuth sector. It was situated on the Hydian Way super-hyperroute, which served as the dividing line between the New Territories and the Trans-Hydian region and which connected it to the Botajef system and the Crombach Nebula as well as the Bandomeer system of the Meerian sector.
Harloen was known as the swoop racing capital of the Outer Rim Territories. Similarly to worlds such as Adarlon and Sorotarr VI, by the time of the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, Harloen was commonly frequented by people such as corporate executives; Imperial Moffs, Fleet Admirals, and nobles; and dishonest individuals, who were all traveling incognito and were seeking out entertainment.
