Hintivan II was a cold, heavily forested world that occupied the second orbital position in the Hintivan system, a part of the Corva sector in the New Territories portion of the Outer Rim Territories. It was home to large trees.
During the early years of the Galactic Civil War, which began in 2 BBY, Hintivan II was controlled by the Galactic Empire. An Imperial-sanctioned company that utilized enslaved labor carried out logging operations there, handing out early-model suits of Imperial snowtrooper armor to its workers to protect them from the low temperatures and hazardous conditions of their work. At some point by 2 BBY, enslavers sold the Locan Talas Piran from the Wild Space celestial body Loce to the company on Hintivan II. There, Piran and his work gang were forced to cut down trees utilizing only vibro-axes. After long years of work, at one point by 0 ABY, the Locan managed to buy his freedom and ultimately became an off-world enslaver himself.
