Kemal was a silver-colored gas giant–type planet located in the Kemal Station system, a part of the Arkanis sector in the Slice portion of the Outer Rim Territories. It was situated on the Triellus Trade Route hyperlane, which linked it to the Andooweel and New Ator systems.
Kemal was orbited by the damp, foggy, terrestrial moon Kemal Station, which serviced both legitimate traders and smugglers. Kemal itself featured a mine of tibanna gas, but the output of the facility was relatively low.
