Lake (asteroid field)

Lake was the denomination of an Asteroid field located in the Aakaash system within the Oplovis sector of the Outer Rim Territories and New Territories. It was situated in grid square M-5 of the Standard Galactic Grid, and located between the planets Land and Wind. By 200 BBY, the latest list released by the Land & Sky Corporation, which had been ruling the Aakaash system for millennia, showed that developed Lake asteroids had been assigned numbered designations up to Lake 14223. The asteroid field was known to be a place of shady dealings and a haunt of pirates. Some officials kept private estates or their mistresses there and some pharmaceutical companies based in the system maintained secret facilities where illegal experiments took place. There were also prisons and mining operations in the asteroid field.
