Malata

Malata was a planet located in the Malata system of the Unknown Regions. It was a part of the Rakatan Archipelago, a fragmented group of unaligned planets settled by tribes of the Rakata species after the collapse of the Rakatan Infinite Empire around 25,200 BBY.

The tribe that colonized Malata also brought its slaves there, which included Wookiees, natives of the Mid Rim world Kashyyyk. Overbreeding among the Wookiees of Malata, however, led to sickly genetic deformities, such as them being hairless and stoop-shouldered with long front incisors meant for chewing on timber thickets.
