Matabre

Matabre was an astronomical object located in the Eucer sector's Matabre system. It was considered a part of the Mid Rim, although it was situated in the region known as the Divide during the Tionese War, which was fought between the Galactic Republic and the Honorable Union of Desevro & Tion. Matabre had been settled by Republic colonists by that time.

A Tionese military force destroyed Republic settlements on the Divide celestial body Okator VIII shortly before the war's end around 23,900 BBY. At some point, a local farm boy who had witnessed the attack and had later become a Republic soldier at some point imprinted an audio-visual account of the attack in a Baragwin sense lattice, speculating that the Tionese could have just as well chosen as their target any of the other settled astronomical objects of the region, including Matabre.
