Oplovis was a world located in the Oplovis system, a part of the Oplovis sector in the New Territories portion of the Outer Rim Territories. It was the point of origin of the fine material known as Oplovis linens, and the Oplovian love poems composed by Sumi Zanthe were a part of classic literature.
In 48 BBY, the Human male Gaen Drommel was born on Oplovis. Drommel went on to become an admiral in the navy of the Galactic Empire. When he was assigned the command of the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Guardian during the Galactic Civil War, Drommel dispatched his executive officer, Gastos Niovi, to personally pick up Oplovis linens from the admiral's homeworld for the latter's new quarters aboard the Guardian. After the death of Galactic Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Drommel established his own personal domain in the Oplovis sector, based in the space surrounding his homeworld.
