Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

Rotas V was a terrestrial planet that occupied the fifth orbital position in the Rotas system, a part of the Yminis sector in the Slice portion of the Outer Rim Territories. It was home to a group of indigenous fighters that was affiliated with the Galactic Republic.

During the Clone Wars, the Republic leadership was reluctant to allow widespread use of the kama, a command skirt and a potentially controversial symbol traditionally associated with the Mandalorian warrior culture, in the ranks of the Grand Army of the Republic. That changed when it was pointed out that the indigenous fighters of Rotas V also wore kamas, and the skirts subsequently worn by the Republic's clone trooper commanders were modeled after those of the Rotas V fighters.
